Rock Slide Fun Run – Rock Your Run!

Rock your run at the 2011 BRE Rock Slide!  This annual spirit-filled student and family 5k and 1-mile walk/run will start at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, in the bus loop.  Warm-up and same day registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. Strollers and dogs are welcome!  No bikes, skateboards, rollerblades. Children must be supervised at all times and participants must be respectful and courteous to fellow participants and surrounding neighborhoods/homes.  The Rock Slide will take place rain, snow or shine!  Following the event, racer and walkers will enjoy a FREE Waffle Breakfast in the cafeteria and can take a first look at the Fall Book Fair which will be held in the gymnasium through October 6.

Show Your School Spirit!
Prizes will be awarded to students who show the best school spirit per grade!  Show your spirit and school pride by wearing your BRE school shirt and being creative with hair, hats, ribbons, and more.  We would love for EVERYONE to get involved in this fun school event!  Run, walk, cheer and entertain the crowd or help work the race course – we want you all!

Register Early!
The cost to participate in the Rock Slide Fun Run is just $10 per person or $35 per family and includes a FREE Waffle Breakfast!  On the day of the race, fees will increase by $5.  Pre-paid registration forms are due by Tuesday, September 27.  Download the  Rock Slide Registration Form

Volunteers are needed to help with Super Saturday!  Several course marshals are needed to help keep the racers on course.  We also need a few helpers for Waffle Breakfast ticket sales and clean-up.   We really appreciate your help making this spirit-filled day safe and fun for all!

Waffle Breakfast

The Waffle Brothers are back!  After the race, instead of the race or during your visit to the Book Fair Kick-Off, stop by to enjoy a delicious Waffle Breakfast from the Waffle Brothers!  The cost is just $8 per person ($10 at the door and FREE for Rock Slide runners/walkers) and includes a hearty waffle with your choice of delicious toppings (strawberries, cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, whipped cream, butter, syrup, Nutella), bacon or sausage, juice, water or milk. Prepay by Tuesday, September 27, to save time and money at the door. Simply return the attached form to receive your pre-paid Waffle Breakfast tickets.

Book Fair Kick-Off

To the Book Fair and Beyond: Reading is out of This World! The 2011 BRE Fall Book Fair Kick-Off will take place on Saturday, October 1, from 8 a.m. to 12noon to coincide with the Rock Slide and Waffle Breakfast.  Stop by early or stay late but don’t miss the chance to see what this year’s book fair has to offer.  Pack a few dollars in your running shorts to spend while you are there!  There will be great reads for all ages and teacher “wish-list” crates filled with books, too.  Plan ahead for the holidays and stock-up on books for the kids, cousins, and more!  BRE Fall Book Fair hours are:

Friday, 9/30:  8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Teacher/Student Preview)
Saturday, 10/1:  8:00 a.m. to 12noon
Monday, 10/3:  8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday, 10/4:  8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Author Night)
